Pleasant river walk – along the banks or through the river bed
The Fango River is widely known for crystal-clear waters and beautiful, spacious rock pools and basins. The river banks are easy to access by a road running parallel on one side and by the trail, »Tra Mare e Monti«, on the other. Especially during the high season, you will search in vain for a »private« pool. Nevertheless, during hot weather, the stream is an excellent option for avid river bed walkers!
Starting point: Pont de Tuarelli, 93m, the bridge next to the D 351 between Galéria and Barghiana, 4.5km from the turn-off on the D 81. You can park your car at the bridge or along the D 351.
Height difference: insignificant.
Grade: the trail along the bank is easy and only requires sturdy footwear. The river bed walk, however, demands some physical fitness in both swimming and fording as well as surefootedness (balance needed for negotiating rocks); water sandals with straps and a slip-proof sole are required; be sure to bring along some sunscreen!
Refreshment and accommodation: bar/restaurant/pizzeria Ponte Vecchiu, gîte/campsite in Tuarelli.

Important notice: the river walk should only be undertaken during stable weather and never after heavy rainfall, despite the fact that you can abort the route any time by returning to the road or the walking trail.
