Urtaca forms a balcony overlooking the valley of Ostriconi, and looking down on a river. The village is ancient, medieval, and in the minds of other villages the sentinal to protect them from the barbarian invasions. The heart of the neighborhood, called U Tricellu, includes the parish church of the Annunciation and the town hall.
