Presentation
Sisco has a magnificent architectural and natural heritage - that is why this village is part of two natural zones of ecological interest, fauna and flora. The village is made up of several hamlets, each of which contains at least one small architectural treasure.
This walk is thought to discover many of the hamlets of Sisco, which are surrounded by a beautiful and almost untouched nature.

Road access
The road-trip from Bastia to Sisco takes 28 minutes for 21.8 kilometres. You must take the road D 80 and after the D 32 one. You can park your car when you reach the hamlet of Moline, where the walk begins.

Itinerary
From the hamlet of Moline you must take the well-marked and well-maintained path until you reach the hamlet of Balba where you can run into a circular tower and into the chapel of St Ghjacumu. Keep walking until you reach the hamlet of Poggio, where there are some "American houses" and an imposing church dedicated to St Martin (13th century), and after the hamlet of Monacaja, an old medieval village which owes its name to an ancient monastery (monacchia in the Corsican language) which was very important during the early Middle Ages. In Monacaja there is a square tower in excellent condition.
After having left Monacaja, you must follow the road to reach the hamlet of Barrigioni thanks to a path which starts on your left. In Barrigioni there is another square tower and the chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, which is open to the public.
The path descends steeply until you reach the hamlet of Teghje, which owes its name to the teghje tetti (slate roofs in Corsican language) which cover its old houses. You must pass through the village and after you must reach the monastery of St Anthony along a path which takes you through the fields.
From the monastery you must descend in the direction of the hamlet of Partine, where there is a square tower and several houses leaning against each other and connected by porticoes, internal entrances and courtyards.
To return to the starting point, you must take the path which crosses the meadows and which slopes gently through a forest of holm oaks until it joins the D 32 road and the starting point.
