Presentation
Rogliano has a great natural heritage: in fact, it is here that we find the cave of Coscia, classified historical monument on 26 June 2007. Furthermore, the Finocchiarola Islands nature reserve – which includes the islet of Terra, the islet of Mezzana and the islet of Finocchiarola – is part of the municipality of Rogliano. In addition, this village is part of a natural zone of ecological interest, fauna and flora: Marais et plage de Macinaggio, where you can find many animals and plants typical of wetlands.
This walk is thought to allow you to discover the architectural heritage of Rogliano, such as the chapels of its hamlets, the convent of San Francis (15th century), the Da Mare castle and the Barbara da Mare tower.

Road access
The road-trip from Bastia to Rogliano takes 51 minutes for 41.6 kilometres.
From Bastia you must take the D 80 road until the hamlet of Macinaghju, from where you must take the D 53 road until you reach the car park of the Rogliano town hall.

Itinerary
From the car park, you must reach the Campianu washhouse and take the path which goes towards the hamlet of Quercioli. This path will allow you to reach the convent of St Francis and the Barbara Da Mare tower.
Take a moment to admire the two buildings and then take the little road which goes towards the hamlet of Vignale, from where you can set off to admire the ruins of the Da Mare castle, built in the 16th century to watch over the area.
From Vignale, you must descend along a path on your right towards the hamlet of Magna Suprana, which was founded in the 6th century BC. From here you must take the road which leads to Bettolacce for a few hundred metres and then you must descend along a shady path which passes near the remains of the church consecrated to St Cosmas and St Damian and near its bell tower. This path will lead you back to the parish church of St Agnel (16th century), which contains several historical monuments and which is located next to the car park of the town hall.
