Sagone tower is a historical monument. Built in the seventeenth century, it was part of the defensive infrastructure of the Bay of Sagone. The Genoese built it to protect ships carrying timber from Aitone. The tower was attacked by the Corsican rebelling against Genoa, and much later was used by the French in battle against English ships. Despite all these years of war, the tower remains in very good condition
