The Capitello tower faces the Gulf of Ajaccio, at the mouth of the Prunelli. This imposing round tower has a historical role in the life of Napoleon Bonaparte. He settled in this tower to try to recapture the city of Grosseto Prungna following an insurrection which provoked looting of the "Casa Buonaparte" and the flight of Bonaparte. The strategy of the young officer Napoleon Bonaparte failed. He did not return to the Isle of Beauty before completing military campaigns in Egypt.
