Claire Jégou was trained by a master saddler and best worker in France at the National Stud Farm in La Roche Sur Yon. Sébastien Leroy is a well-known and experienced master saddler who has worked in many renowned companies for the last 20 years.
Their workshop called “A Beddula” is situated in Levie in the heart of the Alta Rocca region in Corsica.
The saddlery, which has existed since 2010, perpetuates from year to year the art of working leather in the respect of both tradition and modernism. Their Ariadne’s thread consists of handmade sewing in order to offer customers their demanding know-how. The smell of leather, the sound of tools, the touch of materials and the eye are essential in this profession. The ancestral tools hanging on the workbenches put into light an ancient craft which still endures today.
Between tradition and technical skills, the use of noble and modern materials, these two craft workers have no limit.
“We work with French materials as much as we can which is for us a proof of quality and durability”.
Saddles, pouches, belts, handbags and any kinds of cases are made to measure or restored for all tastes and at all costs. Each piece is unique and can be customized. The various fields they work for go from equestrian material, fine leather goods, furniture to cars, motorbikes or boats.
In their atypical workshop Claire and Sébastien will be pleased to give you some advice and help you find answers.
Their philosophy of life and at work – “You don’t just suddenly become a craftman, it takes time, humility and respect.”
