With its 1,032 inhabitants according to the last census of 2004, this small village covers 10.2 km2 and is located 3 km southwest of Monticello. Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna can be reached from  Calvi  and  Ponte-Leccia  via  the  RN 197 road, and is connected to the center of   L'Île-Rousse  by the D 13 road.

Santa Reparata di Balagna is a village made of several villages : U Poghju, Alzia, San Bernardinu, Palmentu, Occiglioni and I Palazzi.

Santa-Reparata-di-Balagna developed around the parish church of Santa Reparata, located 267 meters above sea level. It's the church which gives it a Tuscan atmosphere. Count Boniface, marquis of Tuscany, had the church built and dedicated to the worship of Saint Reparate.
