San Nicolao is a municipality in the Haute-Corse department with an area of 7.73 km2, which is located in the heart of Costa Verde.

San Nicolao has all the advantages of the "Isle of Beauty": it benefits from a very attractive coastline thanks to its seaside district of Moriani-Plage and a mountainous area, where the village is perched, on the foothills of Mont Castelle d'Osari, grouped around several hamlets.

The village of San Nicolao is the birthplace of Sebastianu Costa, grand chancellor of King Theodore of Neuhoff, known for his chronicles about the region.

San Nicolao is also known for its Baroque church, built at the beginning of the 18th century, which is classified as a historic monument.
