Pleasant half-day walk to the famous cascade slides
The cascades of Purcaraccia are probably the most renowned destinations in Corsica for canyoning fans – the chutes and cascades are among the best on the island. Consequently, the cascades are very popular, both for hoards of canyonists and for walkers with bathing in mind who can thoroughly enjoy the beautiful rock pools.
Location: Solenzara, small seaside resort on the east coast.
Starting point: Bocca di Larone, 608m, mountain pass on the D 268 between ­Solenzara (17km) and Col de Bavella (13km).
Height difference: a good 100m.
Grade: mostly an easy slope and valley walk and usually pleasantly shaded.
Refreshment and accommodation: at the Col de Bavella auberge; in Solenzara restaurants, hotels und campsites.
