Panoramic peak surrounded by a sea of boulders in the Ospédale Forest
Hardly another site on Corsica offers such a sweeping view as this modest summit. To the east, you can admire the coastline of Porto-Vecchio, the Ospédale reservoir to the north as well as the entire Bavella chain and the Gulf of Valinco to the west.
Location: L’Ospédale, daily bus service to Porto-Vecchio and Zonza (Walk 49).
Starting point: Col de Mela, 1068m. 1km from Ospédale in the direction of Zonza, take the fork to Agnarone, Cartalavonu, Tavogna, then the 1st and 2nd turnings to the left, 3rd and 4th to the right, finally the 5th turning to the left towards Col de Mela. The road ends at a private house (parking places).
Height difference: a good 400m.
Grade: easy mountain hike on adventurous footpaths (possible route finding problems in poor visibility).
Refreshment and accommodation: restaurants in Cartalavonu, Agnarone and Ospédale, hotels and campsites in Zonza and Porto-Vecchio.
