Propriano is a small town located on the south-west coast of Corsica, between Ajaccio and Bonifacio. It is sheltered in the Gulf of Valinco, and has a marina. Mostly known for its beautiful beaches nearby, the city, which is easy to access, was built on the basis of a small village that already existed several hundred years ago. The city as we know it today is only 150 years old.

Propriano is easy and very pleasant to visit. Its marina is in the city center and its main beach (the Lido) is nearby and within walking distance. The main street of Propriano is lined with shops and restaurants which are very popular in the summer season.

You can start your visit with a stroll around the port, the most picturesque part of the city, with its large colorful houses and boats. Just behind the port is a staircase that leads to the Notre-Dame de la Miséricorde, from which you will discover a view of the rooftops of the city. In addition to the beach of Lido in the heart of Propriano, other beaches are nearby: Campomoro, in the Belvédère-Campomoro resort, in the southwest, offering a beautiful view of the coast. The beach of Cala d'Agulia, which you can access by the coastal path from Campomoro (about 3h walk or accessible only by the sea with a small boat).
