Poggio-Mezzana is located at an altitude of 300 metres and is part of the ancient parish of Tavagna. This village is built in the middle of the mountains, with a beautiful view of the coast and of the region of Costa Verde. It is a pleasure to walk through the narrow streets of Poggio and admire the architecture of the buildings.
This village is surrounded by a forest of centuries-old chestnut and olive trees, where you can enjoy the shade even during the summer. Poggio-Mezzana is made up of several hamlets: Renoso, Mezzana, Poggio, E Murelle and Pianella.

The parish church of St John the Baptist (15th century) and the church of St John Lawrence of Renoso are the two main places of worship in the village.
The church of St John the Baptist is in good condition, having been renovated several times between the 19th and the 20th century. Inside this church you will find several works of artistic interest, such as the altarpiece Decollation of St John the Baptist and the altarpiece Virgin of Mercy.
The church of St John Lawrence of Renoso, which is built with old red bricks, is also of great interest. You should also visit the chapel of St Lawrence (18th century), which contains the painting Apparition of the Virgin and the Child to Saint Lawrence and to Saint Pankraz.
Poggio-Mezzana is located at 38 km from Aléria, at 44 km from Bastia and at 68 km from Corte. This village is crossed by the D109 road.
