Piano is located at 680 metres above sea level and is part of the ancient parish of Ampugnani in Castagniccia. The peak of this natural region is Monte San Petrone, at 1767 metres above sea level. Piano is surrounded by high hills, covered with chestnut groves. The villages of Castagniccia are a natural paradise, where you can admire a nature that is still well preserved and almost intact. In fact, despite the numerous fires that have affected the village of Piano, the Corsican scrub has always taken over.
This village is built on a rocky ridge, to the south of Monte San Anghjulu, facing the sun.

This village is part of a natural area of ecological, faunal and floristic interest of the second generation: Châtaigneraies de la petite Castagniccia. Piano is part of the regional natural park of Corsica.

Art lovers can visit the parish church of St Roch (17th century), which has been renovated several times. This church is rather simple on the outside, but inside it is decorated with numerous frescoes: the ceiling decorations are made up of floral and plant motifs. If you feel like walking, you can reach the chapel of St George (19th century), where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. Around the village you will find several mills, which are not used, and some fountains.
