In the atypical form of an amphitheater, the village of Ota is facing the mountain but benefits from the proximity to the sea of Porto. The unusual houses are built in complete harmony with the village walls, with outside staircases and in some cases with vaulted passages. The Church of St. John the Baptist (eighteenth century), is a remarkable work of architecture in the village. The village of Ota is the starting point for many hikes.
