Muro is a village in Upper-Corsica in Balagne region, which belongs to the ancient parish of Sant'Andrea. The village is located at an altitude of 390 metres and enjoys a Mediterranean climate. The village is surrounded by medium-sized mountains and there are many olive trees, holm oaks and pubescent oaks around the village. Even today the local economy is based on agriculture, in particular on the exploitation of olive trees – that’s why the village has fifteen oil mills.

Muro is one of the eighteen Balagna villages that are part of a second-generation natural area of ecological, faunal and floristic interest. This village is also the starting point for several hikes: for example, you can reach Feliceto and Zolia, passing by the Bocca di Foata (732 m). If you like walking, do not forget to bring a good supply of water and make sure you have good shoes.

Art lovers should visit the church of the Santissima Annunziata, located in the north of the village. This church is very beautiful and has an exceptional Baroque façade. Inside you can admire several paintings classified as historical monuments (such as The Assumption of the Virgin and The Virgin and Christ Child with Saint Anne), the altar and the choir. There are also three small chapels that are in excellent condition.

Muro is crossed by the departmental road 71 and is located at 15 km from Île-Rousse and at 22 km from Calvi.
