Pinnacle paradise above the Col de Vizzavona
It’s possible to ascend one route up onto Monte d’Oro and descend another, which significantly adds to the experience of a summit ascent already rich in panoramic views.
Starting point: train station at Vizzavona, 915m, on the Corte – Ajaccio line.
Height difference: D+1442m D-1352m
Grade: strenuous mountain hike on well-marked footpaths (however, pay close attention to the waymarkings!); the ascent to the summit requires basic climbing skills (Climbing Grades I–II).
