Remote summit – only a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle on the coast
The drive up along the narrow road is rather adventurous in places and can prove to be an experience in itself. Rosazia is one of the most isolated villages on the island – you will not find this place in any of the travel guides – and the walk onto Monte Cervellu correspondingly remote. The ascent is not very spectacular but from the summit you are rewarded with a fabulous view towards the Gulf of Sagone, the Gulf of Ajaccio and, above all, the view of the neighbouring Mont Tretorre and the central ridge.

Starting point: the entrance to the village of Rosazia, 673m, 31km east of Sagone (a narrow road from Murzo and rather airy in places).
Height difference: just under 1000m.
Grade: mostly good hiking path as far as the Bergerie de Manganu; the summit ascent itself is more or less over rough ground, but offers few problems (possible route finding problems in poor visi­bility).
Refreshment: bar/restaurant in Rosazia, hotels and campsite in Vico.
