The pond is the home of around thirty species of fish and of many species of birds such as the great cormorant and the mallard.
The Diane pond is famous for its oyster production and the seafood that is produced by the three main activities at the pond (fishing, aquaculture and shellfish breeding) is enjoyed on the banks of the pond.
