Presentation
Ersa is the northernmost village on the island and is made up of several hamlets, including Butticella, A Piazza, Gualdo, Cucincu, Poghju and Granaghjolu.
This short walk will allow you to discover all these hamlets by walking along a path shaded by a holm oak forest. All these hamlets hide some architectural treasures such as the church of St Andrews and the chapel of St Roch.

Road access
The road-trip from Bastia to Ersa takes 1 hour and 1 minute for 53.6 kilometres.
From Bastia you must take the road D 80 until the hamlet of Butticella. Then you must take the road D 153 in the direction of Tollare. You can park your car at the convent of St Mary, just below the hamlet of Butticella.

Itinerary
After parking your car in the proximity of the convent of St Mary you will easily find the path to take – the path is well maintained and well-marked. To start this walk you must walk towards the hamlet of Granaghjolu – before reaching this hamlet you should take a look at the outside of the church of St Andrew (you cannot visit the interior of this church because the roof needs to be redone).
Then you must return towards your starting point and continue walking until you reach the fork for the chapel of St Roch. Take this fork and continue walking until you reach the small chapel, in the middle of the Corsican scrub. From here you can reach the hamlet of Cucincu and then take the path towards Gualdo. From Gualdo, you can return to your starting point via the hamlet of Piazza.
