Presentation
The village of Morsiglia was an ancient trading post founded by the Phoenicians in the 6th century before Christ. Today, this village has several buildings of cultural and architectural interest, some of which have been classified historical monuments. This walk will allow you to discover the four-square towers located in the hamlet of Pecorile, the most remarkable of which is 16 metres high and has several putlog holes – small holes made in the walls of structures to receive the ends of poles (small round logs) or beams to support a scaffolding –, the Stanti tower and the Palazzu Ghjelfucci.

Road access
The road-trip from Bastia to Morsiglia takes 1 hour for 53.8 kilometres.
From Bastia, you must take the D 80 road until you reach the village of Morsiglia. You can park your car in the hamlet of Pecurile, on the edge of the D 80 road. Pay attention not to obstruct the traffic.

Itinerary
The starting point is located in front of the bar, under a grove of olive trees. The path is well maintained and well-marked. Starting from the bar, you must walk eastwards towards Pecorile. Walk along the beautiful façade of Palazzu Ghjelfucci and keep walking until you reach the chapel of St John. Then you must walk eastwards and pass under the tower of St John and the tower of Pianasca. After having admired these towers, you must climb up towards Pruno along a shady and well-maintained path. In Pruno the panorama is breathtaking: it is the perfect place to take some souvenir photos! Then you must descend towards the hamlet of Stanti: take the tarmac road for a few hundred metres. During the descent you can catch a glimpse of the four-square towers of Pecorile. In Stanti you can see the village tower, which dominates all the houses of the hamlet. To the west you can also catch a glimpse of two old windmills. Keep walking until you reach the small bridge of A Guadella on the main road. Here you must take a dirt road from where you can see the village of Centuri and the Convent of the Annunciation. Keep walking until you reach the chapel of St Rock of Pecorile. You should take a look at this hamlet and after you must pass under its most imposing tower. Then you must continue walking eastwards to return to the starting point. At a certain moment you will reach a car park: you must walk downhill until you reach a dirt track that will take you to the starting point.
