Road access

The village of Zoza is located on the D 20 road. From Zonza you must take the road D 420 towards Quenza and then towards Aullène. Just before reaching the village of Sorbollano, turn left onto the D 20 and continue along this road for about ten kilometres. When you reach the village of Zoza you could park in the small car park on the right side of the road or in the embankment which is located just before the car park.

Description

This swimming spot is located downstream from the village of Zoza, near the Rizzanese dam which supplies the largest hydroelectric power plant in Corsica, with installed capacity of 55 MW (almost 40% of the island's hydroelectricity). The Rizzanese river is home to some protected species, such as the Corsican trout and the Corsican painted frog.
From the small car park you will find a staircase which will help you to reach a wide path leading down to the Rizzanese river– please follow the path and the hiking signs. You will reach the natural swimming pool near the Vecchju bridge in about five minutes. But you should wear a good pair of shoes because the access is not so easy and you could slip because of the vegetation.
This swimming spot is very beautiful: you will find a natural pool where you can take a swim, a small waterfall behind the bridge, large rocks where you can sunbathe or take a nap, the vestiges of an old mill.... During the summer season this natural pool is very popular with tourists – if you are looking for peace and quiet then you should walk along the Rizzanese river to find other natural pools.
