Road access
From Porto you must take the road D 81 towards Cargèse: this is the only road which connects the village of Porto with the village of Piana. After crossing the Calanques by car (about two kilometres) you must keep driving until you reach the small car park located near the municipal stadium.

Description
In 1983, the calanques of Piana were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, with the gulf of Porto, the gulf of Girolata and the Scandola nature reserve. It is one of Corsica's most beautiful and evocative sites. These red granite rocks rise about 400 metres above sea level and are crossed by a mule track which in the past connected the village of Piana to the village of Ota and which was used until the second half of the 19th century. The location is spectacular and the panorama is breathtaking!
The starting point for this walk is located at the other end of the municipal stadium. You can start walking and do not hesitate to cross the stream of Mezzanu and to take the old path which connects the village of Piana to the village of Ota. The path climbs gently in the shade of the forest of Piana. When the path becomes almost flat you must turn left – you can follow the indications. After a short walk you will reach your destination and you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Porto.
To return to the car you must continue to follow the path. Please pay attention: the walk becomes a little more difficult because the path (which dates back to the 19th century) is not in a good state. Keep walking and do not hesitate to descend until you reach the D 81 road and your car.
