Road access
From Porto you must drive towards Évisa and after you must take the road D 24 towards Marignana. At a certain point you must turn left onto the D 224 in the direction of the cemetery where you can park. Please pay attention not to obstruct traffic, in particular during the summer.

Description
In 1485 the village of Tassu was already mentioned in an official list - it was an important village, situated in the middle of several mule tracks. At its peak (in the 16th century) the village had about a hundred inhabitants and an independent church.
The decline of the village began in the 18th century and in 1935 its last inhabitant, Pascal Battesti, died. In the 1970s a community of hippies occupied some of the village buildings, but only for a few months. Today the village is completely abandoned, but the roof of the church and its fresco have been fully restored.
The path which takes you to Tassu is part of the Mare e Monti circuit. The starting point is located near the Ustaria di a Rota, a restaurant where you can eat Corsican specialities. This path is quite easy: just follow the orange markers. After about thirty minutes of walking you will arrive at Tassu. If you love walking you can continue towards Évisa, but the difficulty becomes more important.
