Located north of the Bouches de Bonifacio Nature Reserve, Tamaricciu is an emblematic site for the beauty and diversity of its natural environment. The heart of this small site is a rocky point of red porphyry, the Punta Columbara, on which are backed the ends of two large beaches of very fine sand, the Palombaggia and the Tamaricciu-Acciaju beach. Tamaricciu is a fragile site preserved by the Conservatoire du Littoral.

Description  : The hike is a one-hour loop which goes around the point by the coastal path, crossing different environments, such as maquis, red rocks, umbrella pines, and white sand beaches.

Access  : From Porto-Vecchio, follow the coastal road towards the south. Go past Piccovaggia, and park along the road after Palombaggia beach, at Tamaricciu, the starting point for this walk.
From the road, take the path to the right of the stone wall, then turn right to the beach at the crossroads.

Circuit  :
⦁ Walk along the beach towards Punta di Colombara
⦁ Continue below the perched dune
⦁ Go past the roundabout to pass between the point and the rocks
⦁ After having seen the Cerbical Islands in the distance, take the path lined with vegetation to reach Palombaggia beach
⦁ Turn left, pass between a wetland and the maquis to return to the starting point.
