Road access

To reach the Genoese bridge of Pianella from Ota, you must take the D 124 road towards the village of Évisa. You can park on the edge of the road, near the Genoese bridge which you could see from the road. Please be careful not to obstruct traffic, in particular during the summer season.

Description

This Genoese bridge was built in the 15th century to help people cross the small Porto river, which crosses the villages of Cristinacce, Évisa, Marignana and Ota. This bridge was classified as a historic monument by decree of November 29, 1976. The Spilonca interpretive trail will help you pass over this bridge. Thanks to several explanatory panels which are scattered along the path, you will discover a lot of information about the flora and fauna of the region. The path is quite flat until the bridge of Zeglia, then it becomes more challenging because it climbs up until the village of Évisa.
If you do not love walking then you can park your car on the edge of the road, near the Genoese bridge. You must take a path to your right – you will have no problem finding your way and you will reach your destination after a two-minute walk
The Pianella bridge overlooks a beautiful natural pool, surrounded by Corsican scrub and by some pink granite rocks. On the right bank you will find a shaded sandy beach, which offers a pleasant shelter from the summer heat.
