Description
Moltifao is a mid-mountain village which is part of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica. Within its territory you can find the so-called Turtle village, which is a centre for the protection of the Hermann's Tortoise – in the past this species of land tortoise was present everywhere in France but today it lives in only two regions: Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Upper Corsica.
The village of Moltifao is crossed by the Asco, which has its source on the western slope of Monte Cinto and which is the main tributary of the Golo. This river is well-known by canoeists for its clear and turbulent waters, but the Asco calms down near the Mulindina bridge, where you can find three small pebble beaches. The natural pools are located just below the bridge, a twenty metre walk away: there are a lot of trees that hide the river. In these natural pools you can enjoy a pleasant swim and where your children can have fun and cool themselves surrounded by butterflies and frogs. Sport lovers can leave the bridge behind and have fun swimming against the current: a real challenge!
