Description

This small bridge owes its spooky nickname to an old legend according to which the devil haunted the area. A frightening name that does not do justice to this wonderful place. Furthermore this Genoese bridge is in excellent condition and hides a shady beach and a natural pool where tourists and locals can take a swim in peace! You can reach this natural pool via a small path that will take you down to the river's edge after only about 30 metres. This is a perfect place for children and parents: adults can sunbathe and children can swim and run around in complete safety!
If you love walking then you should know that from this bridge you can reach the abandoned village of Fiuminale, which the last inhabitant abandoned in 1981. This walk takes about an hour and fifteen minutes and it is very easy because the path is shady, well-maintained and well-marked! At the village of Fiuminale you can take a look at the chapel of St Joseph (which is in very good condition because it was restored in 2012) and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Castagniccia mountains.
