Road access
The road-trip from Corte to Bustanico takes 33 minutes for 28.6 kilometres. You must take the D 623 road and the D 39 one. Bustanico is located at 90.7 km from Ajaccio and at 78.4 km from Bastia.
To reach the starting point, you must take the road 200 from Corte towards Aléria and continue driving towards Sant'Andréa-di-Bozio. You must reach the village of Bustanico (you can follow the road signs) and continue driving through the village. You can park your car at the hill of St Antony. Be careful not to obstruct traffic, in particular during the summer season.

Description
Bustanico played a very important role in the history of the island: it was from this village that the insurrection against the Republic of Genoa started in 1729. The revolt began because of a new tax imposed by the Republic of Genoa.
After having parked your car you must take the path towards the chapel of St Anthony. Then you must turn left until you reach a chestnut grove. Keep walking until you reach a red and orange signpost which leads you to the chapel of St Alexis. This chapel is visible from afar and was restored in 2014. The lake is not far away, but you should know that disappears during the summer period. For this reason you will see many toads and frogs. You might also see cows or sheep.
