The road-trip from Corte to Ghisoni takes 52 minutes for 48.6 kilometres. You must take the T 20 road and the D 69 one. Ghisoni is located at 80.5 km from Ajaccio and at 112.2 km from Bastia.
To reach the starting point of this walk you must take the road which leads to the hamlets of Monaco and Agnatello, which is the most important hamlet of Ghisoni. The starting point is located near a small car park.

Description
The village of Ghisoni overlooks the valley of Fiumorbu and it located on an essential crossing point which connects the south, the north and the east of the island. This village played a very important role in the history of the island: if the exact date of the foundation of Ghisoni is uncertain, we know that the village was founded before Ajaccio (1380) and Bastia (1412).
This walk is very easy and will allow you to discover the old Petra Rossa mine (which was opened in 1912 and closed after the Second World War) from which lead, silver, iron and manganese were extracted.  Today, the remains of this mine are part of the General Inventory of Cultural Heritage.
After having parked your car, you must follow the path which leads to a bridge that will allow you to cross the Fiumorbu. Keep walking until you reach the abandoned village of Paganello. Then walk until you reach the right bank of the Finosa stream, which you must ford to continue your walk. To reach the mine you must run alongside a water supply pipe on your right and ford the Finosa stream a second time.
Go back along the same itinerary.
