Road access
To reach the lake of Codole, you can set off from Île-Rousse or Speloncato. The road-trip from Calvi to Île-Rousse takes 33 minutes for 26.1 km – you must take the T30 road and the "route de Calvi". The road-trip from Calvi to Speloncato takes 43 minutes for 36.8 kilometres – you must take the T30 road and the D71 one.
To reach the lake you must take the D113 road, from the south if you set off from Speloncato and from the north if you set off from Île -Rousse.

Description
The lake of Codole (108 m) is an artificial lake which is located on the Regino plain, at about three kilometres as the crow flies to the south of Île-Rousse. This lake is a Natura 2000 site – which is a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the European Union. It is made up of Special Areas of Conservation and Special Protection Areas designated under the Habitats Directive and the Birds Directive, respectively. The network includes both terrestrial and Marine Protected Areas. It is the largest body of water on the west coast.
You should take a look at this lake: the walk is pleasant and perfect for the whole family. Getting lost is impossible: you only need to follow the edge of the lake!
