Road access

From Sartène you must take the D 65 road and drive through the village of Foce and the village of Bilzese. At the exit of Bilzese you must take the D 265 road: continue driving for 2.5 kilometres and then take the D 365 road towards Vignatella. After a few metres you will cross a metal bridge (do not be frightened of the noise). You could park your car on the embankment near the bridge.

Description

The Ortolo is a coastal river which is 32 kilometres long. It crosses the communes of Levie, Foce and Sartène and it flows directly into the Mediterranean Sea. After parking your car on the embarkment, you will find a small path which leading down to the river. You will reach your destination in less than a minute. At the foot of the bridge, you will find a large and a deep natural pool where you can swim in peace and quiet. Sport lovers can also dive from a natural trampoline which is located on the left side of the river, at a height of about two metres.
The valley of Ortolo hosts several natural pools, some of which are little known. This is the perfect place to find some shelter from the hustle and bustle of summer. If you love walking, then you should walk along the river to discover other natural pools and to find your little corner of paradise.
