The Nature Reserve of Scandola, with a surface of 1669 hectares, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is both marine and terrestrial. It has been part of the marine protected areas of France since 1975. It is an old volcano which collapsed into the sea that gave the peninsula of Scandola these unique landscapes. The abundant and rare flora and fauna make it a must-see destination on the Isle of Beauty. The reddish rock is reflected in the turquoise waters and offers a palette with beautiful colours. |
