Difficulty: easy
Type: road-trip
Duration: 2 h
Length: n/a
Difference in height: 150 m
Starting point: Albertacce
Road access
The road-trip from Corte to Albertacce takes 56 minutes for 45.5 kilometres – you must take the D 84 road and the D 318 one. Albertacce is located at 90.7 km from Ajaccio and at 78.4 km from Bastia.
The starting point is located on the D84 road, four kilometres before the Vergio pass and after the French Foreign Legion chalet. You can park your car where you want, but pay attention not to obstruct the traffic, in particular during the summer period.
Description
The path is well shaded because it passes through a grove made up of pines and birch trees. The path is well maintained and well-marked, but it becomes a little more difficult after the sheepfold of Radule, before the waterfall.
After having parked your car, you must find the wooden sign indicating the starting point of the walk. Start following the path but pay attention: after five minutes of walking you must turn left even though the path continues straight ahead. Soon you will see the first birch trees and the first pines, which can reach a height of forty metres.
At a certain point you will run into a second crossroads that will allow you to take a path which is part of the GR20 circuit – you must follow the red and white markers until you reach the sheepfold of Radule. Catch your breath and if you want you can taste the Corsican cheeses made by the shepherds.
Then you must continue walking to reach the waterfall of Radule: the path begins descending but then it climbs quite rapidly until it reaches the footbridge which allows you to cross the Golo. Follow the path until you reach the waterfall. The path becomes flat again. To return to the starting point you must cross the Golo a second time and pass through the forest until you reach the first crossroads.
