Road access

The Nuziata and Orso waterfall is located just outside the village of Muro, towards Feliceto. The road-trip from Île-Rousse to Muro takes 29 minutes for 17.9 kilometres (road D 13). The road-trip from Calvi to Muro takes 34 minutes for 22.8 kilometres (road T 30 and D 71). You can park your car near the local post office.

Description

To reach this waterfall, you must walk for five hundred metres. The walk is very short and easy. You will have no problem finding your way because the waterfall is located next to a bridge that you will see from afar. This walk is perfect for families with children but please do not leave in flip-flops!
A legends tells that this waterfall was formed after a tragic event: Nuziata and Orso were two lovers who had an impossible relationship, like Romeo and Juliet. The two young people decided to marry in secret, even if their families were opposed to their love. Their happiness did not last long and they decided to commit suicide by throwing themselves off the rocks, with the aim of being together forever. As soon as the two lovers jumped, a spring of water gushed out of the rocks and the waterfall still reminds us of this sad love story. Touching, isn't it?
This waterfall is very easy to reach and for this reason the site attracts a lot of tourists: you should leave early in the morning if you want to enjoy this waterfall in peace. You should know that the water flow could be rather limited in the height of summer.
