Located on the heights facing the sea, 377m above sea level and sitting on top the plain of Fiume, this abandoned village offers an exceptional point of view on the seascape of Sant'Ambroggio and the Gulf of Calvi. It was populated in the fifteenth century by people who deserted the coast to flee from the Saracens. The decline of the village began in the seventeenth and eighteenth century, and in 1914 it was finally abandoned.

Access by car
Go to Lumio and leave your car in the parking near the entrance of the village (in the direction of Île-Rousse - Lumio). There is a wooden sign indicating the start of the hike.

Itinerary
In 15 minutes we will arrive in Occi through a very well laid stone path. We can continue the walk by taking the path starting behind the chapel. We'll arrive then on a cliff from which it is possible to reach Capu d'Occi (563m) while taking a variant. The main path leads to Notre-Dame de la Stella, which is located at a crossroads. From here it is possible to reach Lumio or Lavatoggio. You can also make a detour and go to Capu Bracaghju (556m).
