Half an hour from Porto-Vecchio and its beaches, Ospedale (U Spidali) is the first small mountain village 900 meters above sea level. It owes its name to the old hospital of the area that used to be there.

Perched at an altitude of 850 meters, the Ospedale offers breathtaking views of the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio. Then, a few steps away, a marked trail leads to the Piscia di Ghjaddu waterfall, a spectacular 60-meter waterfall. At the exit of the village towards Zonza, a small quay allows to marvel at a breathtaking panorama on the gulf.
A little higher, nestled in the heart of a black pine and beech forest, the artificial lake of Ospedale makes for an enchanting scenery. This dam supplies drinking water to the entire southern region.
