This short walk is thought for everyone, ideal for families and groups with children. Canari is part of two natural zones of ecological, interest, fauna and flora. During this walk you could be lucky enough to see some protected animals: there are some golden eagles and a colony of bats.
Furthermore, Canari is a village rich in history and has a very interesting architectural heritage: thanks to this walk you can admire the church and convent of St Francis (which contains several works classified historical monuments), the chapel of St Erasmus and the church of St Mary of the Assumption.

Road access
The road-trip from Bastia to Canari takes 54 minutes for 43.8 kilometres.
From Bastia you must take the D 80 road until you reach the marina of Canelle. From there you must take the D 33 road on your right. Just before reaching Vignale you must turn right to reach the Canari campanile, which is in the hamlet of Pieve. Do not hesitate to park your car in the square of the campanile, where you can find the starting point of the hike.

Itinerary
The bell tower of Canari was a formidable landmark for sailors, thanks to its considerable height. You should take a look at this monument before starting your walk. The path is well-marked and well-maintained, you will have no problem to orientate yourself.
The starting point is located right next to the bell tower of Pieve: the path starts to descend towards the hamlet of Marinca. The view is breathtaking, but you the descent is quite steep.
You must cross the beautiful hamlet of Marinca, continue climbing and take the path on your right, in the direction of Vignale. Keep walking to return to the starting point. The path passes by the convent and the church of St Francis. You can also catch a glimpse of the church of St Mary of the Assumption.
