Generous and united, the winegrowers of Balagne recently helped Richard Spurr to settle near Clos Landry. Richard Spurr produces the wines of the Enclos des Anges on vines planted on sloping hillsides, composed of granite sand, clay, and tuff on the heights. Its Vermentino vintage does not undergo either destemming or crushing, but is matured in vats for months on dregs. This Anglo-Irish oenologist fell in love with the region and very quickly fit in, to the point of taking on the Corsican accent... His eyes sparkle and his love of Balagne is evident in his powerful and generous wines.
