Fantastic walk with a swim to the Capu di Senetosa
This walk from Tizzano to the lighthouse of Senetosa and further to the Cala di Conca is one of the most fabulous walks on the island. It spoils you with its marvellous, in places park-like coastal landscapes modelled by nature and idyllic sandy bays, each one more beautiful than the other. It’s just a pity that some of the bays are also visited by excursion boats…
Starting point: Tizzano, a small beach resort 17km southwest of Sartène, at the end of the D 48. From Chez Antoine bar-restaurant (end of the asphalt) after 3.4km along a good, drivable track (on foot ¾ hr.) you will reach the sandy bay of Cala di Barcaju (car park; shortly after the holiday settlement of the same name).
Height difference: 450m.
Grade: easy, leisurely, but rather long promenade by the coast.
Refreshment and accommodation: in Tizzano.
Tip: the Cala di Conca and the Cala di Tivella are visited by excursion boats from Propriano in the tourist season.
