A walk along the coast to the unspoilt sandy inlets of the Désert des Agriates
Numerous remote sandy bays, accessible only along well-trodden footpaths or by boat, make this coastal walk especially attractive. Without a doubt, the most beautiful of these is Plage de Loto which can also be reached by boat during the tourist season (ÕAlternative).
Starting point: park your car at St-Florent harbour or above Fornali beach, access along a gravel track (see below, 2 hrs. shorter in total).
Height difference: a good 200m in total.
Grade: easy walking on clear paths.
Refreshment and accommodation: in St-Florent.
Alternative: from May to September there is boat service between St-Florent and Plage de Loto which then offers you an extension of the walk to Plage de Loto (just under 1 hr. from Punta Mortella) with a return to St-Florent by boat – or start the walk at Plage de Loto (book your ticket early, or even better, the night before). From Loto beach, you can continue on to Saleccia beach (¾ hr. along a track through the interior, 1¼ hrs. along the coastal path).
