Road access
The road-trip from Corte to Rapaggio takes 1 hour and 9 minutes for 62.8 kilometres – you must take the T 20 road and the D 71 one. Rapaggio is located at 138.9 kilometres from Ajaccio and at 54.1 kilometres from Bastia.
The starting point of this walk is located to the north of the village of Rapaggio, at the locality called Acqua Acitosa. You can park your car where you find a place, please pay attention not to obstruct the traffic.

Duration
This four-hundred-metre stroll uphill will take you through the Castagniccia forest – which owes its name to the chestnut trees planted by the Republic of Genoa during the 15^th and 16^th centuries to provide chestnut flour.
The start of this walk is located near the spring of Orezza: you must run alongside the Fium'Alto and after one kilometre you will reach the village of Stazzona.
Continue walking until you reach the village of Carcheto-Brustico. If you have some time on your hands, you should take a look at the architectural treasures of this village: in particular at the church of St Marguerite (which is classified historical monument) and at the church of St Joseph (which contains some magnificent frescoes).
Continue walking, you should know that the last kilometre is a little more difficult because the path becomes steeper, until you reach the hamlet of Pisatojo and then the small village of Carpineto.
