With a length of 6.9 kilometers, the Dardo has its source in the municipality of Piana at an altitude of 1,200 meters. Its course is oriented from east to west to the Cavallaghiu bridge of the D81 road. It runs along the territorial forest of Piana until the confluence with the stream of Rondinaghia. From the bridge that marks the southern entrance of Calanche de Piana, the course of the Dardo is deviated by the Capu Ghineparu (515 m) which stands in the middle of Calanche. It bypasses it to the west and flows in deep gorges to its mouth at the bottom of Dardo's cove.
Access
From Porto, take the D81 towards Piana and cross the Calanques. Just after the famous "lovers heart", the bridge located a little below the road, take a right turn. A little further, the road is wide again and you can park without problem.
Itinerary
Go back along the road to the bridge and climb to the side to follow the creek bed to a small concrete dam. We'll arrive to the lower basins following the small stream (often dried up in summer), near the mill, where we'll have to descend a few meters further towards Porto. We'll soon reach the basin below the small concrete dam, where we can cool off.
