The Agnone waterfalls – a miracle of nature

Nowhere else on Corsica can be found such a wealth of natural bathing pools, sculpted and hewn out of the rocky landscape by the waters flowing from the many cascades of the Agnone stream. It is hard to imagine a more beautiful experience than to walk through the shady beech forests along the Cascades des Anglais and enjoy this natural wonder to its utmost. However, you cannot ignore the fact that the cascades are no secret and are a very popular island attraction indeed. Anyone wishing to enjoy this amazing adventure in solitude will have to begin very early in the morning to do so.

Starting point: train station at Vizzavona, 915m, on the Corte – Ajaccio line.

Height difference: 200m.

Grade: easy walk on a well-marked route.

Refreshment and accommodation: kiosk at the cascades, restaurants/hotels in Vizzavona, campsites in Tattone.

Alternative: the Cascades des Anglais may also be reached from La Foce located at Col de Vizzavona, 1163m (signposts; 20 mins. one way to the kiosk).
