Road access

The road-trip from Bastia to Santa-Maria-di-Lota takes 19 minutes for 14.4 kilometres – you must take the D 80 road and the D 31 one. Continue driving along the D 31 road for about 1.5 kilometres. You can park your car near the bridge: do not forget to take a look at the small work of art which located right next to the bridge!

Description

This village is surrounded by mountains and is crossed by many watercourses such as the Cavaligna, the Figarella, the Poggiolo, the Miomu, the Forci and the Mandriale. In Santa-Maria-di-Lota you will find the waterfall of Forci, a real refuge against the summer heat! After having parked your car you must take the path to the right of the bridge to reach the natural pool formed by the waterfall of Forci. You will reach your destination after two minutes of walking, the path is well marked and well maintained.
This natural pool is not well known by tourists and for this reason it is a quiet place even during the high season. It is a real oasis of peace, close to the port of Bastia: the waterfall of Forci is the perfect place for taking a swim just after your arrival in Corsica or before your departure.
After the swim you can continue exploring the region and reach San-Martino-di-Lota (the road trip takes ten minutes for seven kilometres) to enjoy a breathtaking view of the island of Capraja and the island of Elba!
