Adventurous circular route offering fantastic views
The ascent of Capu d’Orto is one of Corsica’s most adventurous walks and is crowned by an absolutely fantastic view of the Gulf of Porto below.
Location: Piana, 440m.
Starting point: football field (stade) of Piana, 480m, via a roadway starting at the D 81 road between Piana and Chalet des Roches Bleues (2km away from either point).
Height difference: 900m.
Grade: mostly easy route, however sometimes strenuous hiking via well-marked footpaths. Ascent to the summit from Foce d’Orto requires surefootedness (I+).
Refreshment and accommodation: in Piana – restaurants/hotels; campsites in Porto and on Plage d’Arone.
