Presentation
This path will allow you to discover the traditional architecture of the Corsican villages and some testimonies of the rural life of the past – with the help of some informative panels.
After this excursion, you will be able to visit the church of St John the Baptist (whose statue of the Virgin and Child and the statue of the baptism of Christ are classified as historical monuments) and A casa di Paesi (the oldest house in the village that has been completely restored).

Road access
From Ajaccio, you must drive towards Bastia and continue in the same direction after the last roundabout of the N193. After about 15 km you must take the fork towards Vero. Keep driving until you reach the town hall where you can park.

Itinerary
After parking your car, you must walk up the stairs next to the war memorial. Take a moment to read the information panel Aux origines du village (about the origins of the village) which is located in the small square next to the oldest house in the village.

Then you must turn right and pass the small pond and the old village washhouse. Keep walking until you reach the tarmac path which leads to the fountain of Vazzalina (whose the water is drinkable). From this fountain you must walk up the stairs and walk along the stone walls until you reach a sharp bend, near the information panel L'orti (the gardens).

After reading the panel, you must turn left until you cross a small stream. Then the path climbs towards a pine forest - take a moment to admire the Renoso massif (to the east) and the Gulf of Ajaccio (to the west). You have reached your destination and you can see the characteristic red boulders of the U Casteddu site: information panel A furesta di Veru (the forest of Vero).

To return to the starting point, you must descend until you come to a crossroads where you will find the information panel Une culture de la marche (a culture of walking). After reading this panel, continue walking. The path becomes an asphalt road, which you must leave to take the path on your left when you see a gate. The path descends quite gently and takes you into the middle of a small forest. You must continue walking until you reach the village and the car park.
