Circular route through the deciduous and coniferous forests of Bonifatu along varied footpaths
This route presents a real alternative to the often over-crowded path leading to the Carrozzu mountain hut (Walk 14). In addition, the route offers a number of lovely viewpoints from which you can see the main ridge around Capu Ladroncellu as well as the Gulf of Calvi.
Starting point: Auberge de la Forêt de Bonifatu, 536m, 21km south of Calvi (pay and display car park).
Height difference: 650m.
Grade: mostly an easy circuit along well-marked footpaths.
Refreshment and accommodation: in the Auberge de la Fôret de Bonifatu, rooms and restaurant.
Alternative: descent from Bocca di Bonassa along the »Mare e Monti« into the Fango Valley.
An excursion starting at Bocca di l’Erbaghiolu to Capu Formiculaghiu as well as Capu a u Ceppu is only recommended for experienced mountain walkers (easy scrambling).
