You're staying in Bastia and want to get away from the town for a little while? Discover the pond of Biguglia, the largest of the island which extends on 1 450 ha, with a length of 11km and a depth of 1m. It has been exploited for the many species of fish, shellfish and crustaceans that inhabit it. The link with the sea is maintained permanently to ensure the seasonal migration of fish and the productivity of natural fish rearing. Nature lovers will also have the opportunity to observe many species of birds.

Access by car
From the RN193 going south, turn left at the Furiani roundabout and follow the signs "Lido de la marana". Several walks, indicated by signs of the Conservatoire du littoral, are accessible along the pond.
Two walks are available to you
⦁ The fort ecomuseum: a "healthy" walk departing along the pond and that will allow you to visit the museum.
Itinerary
Immediately after the crossing, turn right. Follow the railway on the pond road to the car park facing the fort.
⦁ Beach side or "Tombulu Biancu": small round walk, ideal for bird watching with a shelter.

Cross the bridge from the mouth of the pond and continue until 2 large successive turns that lead to the beach with parking on the right. The departure is at the southern end of the car park.
