Access
In Piana, take the path to the right, immediately after the Mezzanu bridge. After 50 meters, follow the path on the left and cross the stadium diagonally SW to NE.
Cross to the right bank using the wooden walkway. At the end of it, take the road to Palani on the left. Walk 10 minutes, cross a fire screen, go towards the wall that can be seen facing the road. Follow this path to the CD.81 which allows you to access to the Calanche and the Porto road, at the Difference in height of the Virgin's statue.
Return to the starting point using the road. This paved path, supported by a magnificent wall of dry stones, can be considered most exceptional for the quality of the work. Anyone who had to go from Piana to Porto and Ota in the early nineteenth century had to follow it, on the back of mules. The road to Piana-Porto was indeed only opened in 1850 by Napoleon III. From then on, communication was made by this route.
